Artist Statement:

I'm intrigued by memories and how they shape our lives - quick moments glimpsed or remembered that remind us of someone or something from our past and, in turn, generate fresh memories for the future. Painting the elegance of simple, everyday events, I dance between abstraction and impressionism combining gestural brushwork with rich color to express the time and timelessness of our lives.

Living in different cultures and in many parts of the United States has allowed me to experience the similarity of people around the world and the common threads of our everyday lives. This is an important thrust of my work today and I travel extensively to paint on location. I feel it is important that we connect with one another and share our sameness while we celebrate our differences. It is in the experience of such moments that we discover something about ourselves and that, to me, is what art is all about.
